Three Random Facts »
I have a very diverse background and as such am bilingual. My mum is Cuban and my dad is Argentinian and how they met is an entirely different story. I was born in Argentina but lived in Houston, Texas until I was ten years old — ever since then it’s been good ol’ Portsmouth, UK. In Houston, I lived with my grandparents. They all spoke to each other in Spanish hence my bilingualism.
My paper knowledge is exceptional. Will you need 100 grams or 400 grams? Most printers will handle weights up to 150 grams but some can even surpass 200 grams. Hammered effect card will print perfectly, and has not been known to cause too much trouble to laser ink printers. Most generic printer paper is a measly 80 grams. Acid and lignen free card and paper is optimum for scrap booking as it will not degenerate with time.
I consider myself a cross between a fine artist and a web designer of sorts. Fine art is a great passion of mine. Surreal depictions of eroticism and taboo tickle my mind, and I occasionally translate my own twisted sense of humour for the surreal into concepts and designs applicable to the web. Oh yes, and I also enjoy painting still life and my medium of choice is oil paints. I sometimes use my paintings in my designs.
Many thanks to the lovely Rachael for the idea for this post. Divulge three random facts about yourself, and give an explanation!
I knew #1, but not the others… Fascinating. Although, I’d like to defend 80gsm paper. It hasn’t killed me yet and I’ve been using it for 20 years!
I do know that you’re a great drawer of sorts but I never knew the technical term for what you do. Yes, that’s how much I suck at art.
Oooh~ I’m curious about your accent now! Well, since you lived in Texas till you were ten, do you still speak with a ‘Texan accent’? Oooh that makes me curious~
Painting still life is something I enjoy too. I actually haven’t done a whole lot since last year. Ooh and you love to use oil paints. I haven’t really gotten used to them but I wouldn’t say they’re my least favourite medium. You’ll definately have to post some of your oil work now~
What gsm would a newspaper be printed on? haha sorry I’m just amused heaps about your random facts! haha!
Your multi-nationality makes you seem even more exotic than you already are to me!
Lil’s hot that way.
@Mandi – she has the craziest accent in the world, considering she’s been living in the deep south of England for the last ten years! :P
Interesting. I learned 3 new things today! Your background sounds really cool :D
Cool things to know. And I’d love to work in a paper shop. And wow, you lived in Argentina? So awesome!
Wow, you’re paper knowledge kind of freaked me out but that’s awesome how you know all those things! :D
I would like to go to Argentina someday. You’ve got a strong blood structure :D
wow. interesting facts!! =D
Just wondering when you will be judging the site swap competition?!
i really like this idea – add more unknown facts! congrats on the bilingualness, i think that’s always an exciting/interesting trait/bragging right (yay hyphens) to have.
by the way, i just used the firefox spell checker, and it’s telling me that bilingualism is a word, although i like my word better.
thank god you know about paper! i have questions about this all time, and i have to consult my brother, who probably knows everything in the entire world but doesn’t want to tell me. actually, i think he tried explaining it to me, but i still didn’t understand. it’s okay, how important is knowing papers anyway? :P
