Hello lilula »

Today is the last birthday where I shall celebrate an age that is not in a multiple of ten. Since everything today must be done in the name of all that is awesome (see: shamelessly geeky), here is a celebration of my twenty-first birthday within the blogosphere, and specifically the creative niche in which I am currently sitting.

Welcome to the launch of lilula, and no it is not a physical launch and there will be no returning to the mothership that created us all. Our alien overlords shall await our return patiently.

This word soup is my attempt to make an impression in the cavernous halls of epic andĀ fail that make up the art and design scene. Like my previous endeavours, this is a personal blog because personal is what I am good at. I’m not selling out to a professional image but one that reflects my passion for the visual arts in all forms.

There will be a large variety of posts ranging from pointing out what I reckon should be pointed out, to the processes behind design and art, to theory and academic writing served with occasional oddities. All delivered fresh out of my brain oven (lawl, wut?) and somewhat free of the pretentious banter a lot of blogs seem to be addled with these days.

Expect an era of semi-coherency and reduced banality. Perhaps even a fully functional layout when I get round to it. Steer clear of the Kool-Aid if you value your mortality.

    hahaha, brain oven.
It’s so simplistic, btu so whiiite, nothing I’m used to from you! Simplistic, maybe.. but white and plain? Nah!
    Good luck with everything! xoxo

I am eternally impressed with your ability to make websites which don’t look like websites.

If I could report two problems – everything from the left side of the screen up to and including your tagling is not clickable, but the rest of the header is. And when I tabbed from the ‘website’ to the ‘comments’ box in this comment form, I ended up somewhere bizarre.

Also, Happy Birthday! Don’t let Akon get you so tipsy that you can’t remember which club you’re at, okay? :P

Thanks all, For the birthday wishes and the support!

@ Vief: I wanted to do something with white space – a good amount looks lovely on screen.

@Rachael: Feel free to point out mistakes – I know where a few are where I’ve rushed things, or have yet to figure it out :P

@Jem: What do you think I’ve been doing all summer? Forty odd drafts of quality, of course :P

@Aisling: Akon will do no such thing. I have him well trained.
