Provisional Marks »
Another university related update. I do have some lovely posts lined up but I have been a little shy as of late. In any case, the provisionals came through today. It means that the marks are not set in stone but they never go down from this point. We only need the external examiners to come and affirm that the lecturers have marked our work properly (which I trust they have) then our fancy grades can be printed onto a piece of paper and handed to us whilst dressed in funny gowns.
What I am dancing around is that the provisional marks are usually our final marks. After around three hours of trying to figure out how to work out my mark from the plethora of numbers we are given I finally got the mark I am most likely going to graduate with. Yes, nearly three hours. Insert token maths joke.
As it turns out I have got a first. For the none UK folk it is within the highest range. An A+, summa cum laude, 100% mark. I have been told rainbows and unicorns are going to start flying around offering me happiness. So far I have only just about determined that I am not having a heart attack — so it has not sunk in yet. Up until it does I think I will just continue feeling a little weird, anxious and disbelieving.
